Nir Kaissar, CFA- unison advisors

Portfolio Manager and Managing Member

Nir Kaissar, Chartered Financial Analyst, is Unison’s founder. Nir’s passion is to improve portfolio management: smarter asset allocation, implemented more cost effectively, and accessible to every investor. Nir is also a columnist for Bloomberg Opinion, writing about markets and investing.

Nir’s work focuses on alternative approaches to multi-asset investing using quantitative methods such as valuation and momentum. With Unison’s founding in 2005, Nir introduced one of the first multi-asset investment managers. Unison’s Equity Bias strategy was twice ranked #1 by Lipper Marketplace in the multi-asset category (based on performance for 5 years ended December 31, 2013 (out of 30) and March 31, 2014 (out of 34)), in addition to numerous other appearances on Lipper Marketplace’s list of Best Money Managers. Nir is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC and the American Finance Association.

Prior to founding Unison, Nir was an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP, where he represented Wall Street’s largest financial institutions in a variety of transactions, including financings and mergers and acquisitions. Nir began his career as a consultant with Ernst & Young LLP, where he prepared company valuations for proposed mergers and acquisitions. Nir is a graduate of Indiana University (1995) and The University of Michigan Law School (2000), where he was Editor of the Michigan Law Review.

Dimitri N. Delis, Ph.D- piper sandler & co.

Managing Director, Senior Econometric Strategist
Strategic Analytics Group

Dimitri Delis is a Managing Director in the Piper Sandler & Co. strategic analytics group (SAG) in the fixed income group. He is responsible for evaluating economic trends, analyzing current economic issues, developing econometric models and providing economic presentations to clients. Additionally, his responsibilities include identifying relative value trades in the taxable fixed income sector with a primary emphasis in the MBS sector.

Prior to joining the group in 2005, Delis served as the cross-sector strategist for JP Morgan. Prior to the JP Morgan and Bank One merger, he was the derivatives strategist for Bank One. Delis’ experience also includes market risk management for ABN AMRO, where he was responsible for identifying and monitoring all market risk-taking activities for the derivatives and FX trading desks and bond modeling for Solomon Brothers’ proprietary portfolio tools.

Delis holds a doctorate in nuclear physics from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Business Administration degree from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Chicago. He is a registered representative with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).

Tom Zachar- piper sandler & co.

Principal
Fixed Income Department

Tom Zachar is a Principal, currently employed in the firm’s Fixed Income Department in Chicago. Mr. Zachar is a sales professional; he works primarily with asset managers and financial institutions to develop and implement fixed income strategies. His experience includes credit analysis, portfolio duration analysis, balance sheet management and liquidity assessment.

Mr. Zachar started working in fixed income sales at Piper Jaffray and its predecessor companies since 2001. He was previously affiliated with William Blair in Chicago. Mr. Zachar received his B.S. in Economics from Georgetown University and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
